Lately, the David Wilcox mailing list has had a good deal of fun writing parodies to David's songs. I've collected the efforts on these pages. I hope you enjoy.
“Just a Small Trickle” by Dennis

The cold water drips to the drain in the kitchen sink
It’s rhythm nearly drives me insane.
I’ll have to fix the damn thing again.
Hasn’t dripped in a year or two.
Good brand, but it’s not so new anymore.
It always seems to happen
When I’m in great need of rest.
So now I cannot sleep; this thing’s put me to the test.
I don’t need all of this bother.
I don’t want to fix it now.
I’ll just look around for earplugs,
Got to block that sound somehow.
Could it be that it’s really just a small trickle
Banging through the darkness all night long?
Could it be it’s just a trickle?
No. Wrong.
Somehow I can’t help but think
That she left behind a curse - on the sink.
Now I remember
What she said before she left:
"Before you have forgotten, you’ll be wishing you were deaf."
Could it be that it’s really just a small trickle
Banging through the darkness all night long?
Could it be it’s just a trickle?
No. Wrong.

Could be that it’s really just a small trickle
Banging through the darkness all night long?
