Almost Dave: Honey, Please Bring Me a Beer

Lately, the David Wilcox mailing list has had a good deal of fun writing parodies to David's songs. I've collected the efforts on these pages. I hope you enjoy.

Honey, Please Bring Me a Beer” by Dennis

I’m watching the sports special
On channel 21,
A dozen hours of football:
I've made myself at home.
My feet upon your footstool.
Gee, I love it here.
And I mumbled something to you—
I guess you didn't hear.
I should have said it louder.
I guess I wasn't clear:
“Since you're in the kitchen,
Honey, please bring me a beer.”

I couldn’t leave the TV.
Don’t want to miss a play.
I couldn’t stand to think what
They’d do while I'm away.
I’d already missed a big one -
I was yelling at your child
Who was laughing and carrying on,
Acting kind of wild.
Now, inches from the goal line
The quarter’s end is near.
I'm sure you can hear me:
Hey, would you bring me a beer?

I’m sure you can hear me.

Laughing at commercials.
Did you see that one, Dear?
I feel you behind me.
Honey, please bring me a beer.
I also like nachos.
Honey, please bring me a beer.
